Dallas could hear the voices coming from downstairs, mostly Rose and Emmett and their kids. They were a happy little family together and truthfully Dallas was happy for them. Rose had told him once about how she dreamed and dreamed of children and now she finally had some to call hers. The sounds came in slightly muffled, Dallas's eyes rose from his book to the door. The thick door to his room was handy in that it would help him to tune out most of the voices and noises from the rest of the house. He enjoyed his new family but sometimes he liked to get away from them too. He was like Edward in that way, according to Carlisle Edward would sit in his room listening to music most of the day. It was also very different, being awake constantly. When he was a human sleep was a time of peace, but now no one slept. Everyone was awake all the time, and sometimes he needed his peace. Dallas sat up in his bed, placing his book on the floor next to it. He stood up from the bed, it was new and not even a squeek was in it yet. He couldn't say much for Emmett and Rosalie's bed. Poor thing.
He headed from his room down the stairs to see what all the talk was about. "Hey, " Dallas said reaching the bottom of the stairs quite quickly, with the fast pace of a vampire. He smiled at Emmett who was watching a college basketball game on the TV with his son. "Who's winning? " Dallas smiled, jumping over the back of the couch and sitting next to the two other vampires. Emmett grimaced slightly, nodding toward the screen, "Notre Dame, " he said with an irritated tone. The other vampire chuckled slightly stating as fact, "He's going to owe me fifty bucks. " Dallas let out a short laugh and continued to watch the game, the players running back and forth around the court. When he was in high school he played basketball so he got into the sport easily when watching it. A young human boy ran across the court quickly, dodging multiple members of the opposite team. "I'll bet with Emmett, they have a good team, just bad luck." The boy on the television was blocked, then unblocked. A pass to number thirty-one. HE SHOOTS, HE SCORES! Emmett and Dallas jumped up cheering and high fiving. "What now!" Emmett laughed to his son. Ah, the bonding time of Cullen boys.
