It has been 52 years since the Volturi had come to Forks, Washington in search of the supposive 'Immortal Child'. And within these 52 years, a lot has changed for the Cullen Family and their fellow Shape-Shifting friends.
One of the biggest changes being the lost of a fellow and beloved family member; Alice Mary Brandon Cullen, who had sacrificed herself to ensure the safety of her entire family and friends.
But even in the wake of Alice's death, new faces have graced the Cullens with their presence. Two of these new faces being the one thing that Rosalie has always wanted in her life as a human; children. Two boys to be more exacted. Each rescued from a low point in their lives. And for one of them, a potential love interest in one of the Cullen's dearest friends; Leah Clearwater could be just the reason to make him stick to the Vegetarian diet.
And then there is the third child, who has taken to being at Carlisle and Esme's side. The only one out of the bunch that Jasper can not stand to be in the same room with for a few known reasons. The two main reasons of hatred towards this new family member; a) her gift to heal emotional pain, which has plagued Jasper since Alice's death back in 2038 and b) Carlisle's hope that Jasper will allow himself to give love another chance with the girl. Hell, Carlisle has even gone as far as to contact Jasper's old friends; Peter, Charlotte, and Maria to help him out in getting Jasper out of his slump.
Meanwhile, down in La Push, the course of time has taken place. The once proud members of the original Quileute pack are now proud grand-parents. But even with all this happiness, the original pack members are wary as a few of the grandchildren have now taken up the Quileute Legacy.
However, Forks and La Push are only two out of six places that have experienced a change. Everett, Tacoma, and Long Beach have welcomed new residences as well. Covens that do not mind being in the company of humans; despite praying upon them as food source. Plus, over in Neah Bay, a few of the children there have made the transition from human to wolf.
And lets not forget the Volturi, who are still keeping an eye over everything in the Vampiric world. One could go as far as to say a little visit with the Cullens is in order.
